Announcement: Club confirms appointment of Lee Picton
South Shields Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Picton as assistant manager.
Lee has joined the club from Blyth Spartans, where he spent 15 months as assistant manager to Tom Wade.
He served as Jon King’s No.2 during the 2011-12 campaign, and has now linked up with the existing backroom team at Mariners Park following the club’s promotion to Ebac Northern League Division One.
As a player, Lee twice won the FA Vase with Whitley Bay, while since his playing days, he has gone on to have a successful time as a coach.
This season, with Lee’s help Blyth finished second in the Evo-Stik Premier Division with 99 points before suffering an agonising defeat in the play-offs.
We would like to welcome Lee back to the club, and wish him every success for the future at Mariners Park.
More to follow on Friday.
