Club becomes member of North East England Chamber of Commerce
South Shields FC has become a member of the North East England Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber is the North East’s largest member organisation, representing around 3,000 businesses. From small and medium-sized enterprises to multi-nationals, it brings business people together across a range of member events. The chamber has been in existence for over 200 years.
To follow on from our success on the pitch, we want to extend the success off the pitch too.
Mariners Park has fantastic facilities to use on non-matchdays: there are two fantastic function rooms available for hire for business meetings, conferences and exhibitions as well as weddings, christenings and parties.
The new addition over the summer has been a marquee, which can hold over 200 guests and is available to hire all year round.
David Mitchell, South Shields FC’s Commercial Director, said: “Joining the NEECC is a huge step for the club and shows that we have ambition to expand on our recent success on the pitch.
“Becoming a member opens us up to thousands of businesses in the area, who know of us, but don’t know the fantastic facilities we have available here at Mariners Park.
“We want to work closely with the Chamber, for them to assist us in connecting us to all of these new businesses in the North East.
“We will be looking to be hosting Chamber events, as well as giving Chamber members some offers to come to South Shields FC.”
