The club would like to wish popular player Chris Feasey all the best for the future after he left South Shields.
The winger, who can also play at left-back, was honoured last season after reaching the milestone of 250 appearances for the club.
He leaves Mariners Park with a record of 270 appearances and 34 goals – a figure no player currently at the club can match – and is now looking for a new team.
Feasey, who turned 32 earlier this week, joined Shields from Gateshead in 2006, and after leaving for Newcastle Benfield in 2010, he returned a year later.
Manager Jon King said: “Chris has been a fantastic servant for the club. We have very reluctantly let him go, and wish him all the best for the future.
“In a time of not a lot of loyalty in football, Chris showed great loyalty to this club, especially through the last few difficult years.
“I’d like to thank him for all of his efforts during his time here, and Chris will always be welcome at Mariners Park with his family.”
Everyone at South Shields FC would like to thank Chris for his magnificent service, and wish him every success for the future.
