South Shields striker Carl Finnigan could reach a special milestone on Saturday.
Finnigan’s next goal will be his 50th for the club, with the frontman having represented the Mariners 73 times so far.
The former Gateshead, Falkirk and Newcastle United striker joined the club in the summer of 2016, and was part of the quadruple-winning side of last season.
He scored in the League Cup and FA Vase final wins over North Shields and Cleethorpes Town respectively, two of 31 goals in his debut campaign with Shields.
The 31-year-old’s scoring rate has been even better this time around, with his 18 goals in 25 games making him the club’s top scorer.
Finnigan will be hoping to bring up his half-century in claret and blue on Saturday as Mossley make the trip to Mariners Park.
