Bishops away in FA Vase

South Shields have been drawn to face Bishop Auckland in the first round of the FA Vase.

The tie will take place at Bishop Auckland’s Heritage Park on the weekend of October 30-November 1.

It is expected that it may be scheduled for Friday, October 30, with Darlington due to play a home match at Heritage Park on the Saturday.

The game will see a number of Shields players go up against their former club, with Adam Sakr and Scott Pocklington having joined the Mariners over recent months from Bishops, and Ben Riding also making the same switch last season.

The tie also sees Shields’ league game at Birtley Town moved to Wednesday, November 4.

Shields reached the first round of the competition with an impressive 2-1 win over Bishop Auckland’s fellow Ebac Northern League Division One side Washington on Saturday.

Bishops, meanwhile, thrashed Holker Old Boys 7-1.
