South Shields manager Jon King has hailed the club’s supporters as the ‘twelfth man’ after another extremely strong travelling support saw the Mariners win 1-0 at Whickham on Tuesday.

Warren Byrne scored the winner six minutes after being brought on as a substitute at the Glebe.

Leepaul Scroggins expressed his delight at a hard-fought three points after South Shields earned a 1-0 win at Whickham on Tuesday.

Warren Byrne came off the bench to score the winner at the Glebe as the Mariners made it five victories in a row.

Warren Byrne stepped off the bench to score the winner on Tuesday as his late strike earned South Shields a 1-0 win at Whickham.

It was the Mariners’ fifth victory in a row without conceding a goal, with Byrne grabbing the winner on 71 minutes, six minutes after being brought on.
